It was a fun day at Earls Hall today as the whole school supported Comic Relief by dressing funny for money! The children dressed as funny superheroes or dressed down in red and each donated at least 50p in support of Red Nose Day. We haven’t totted up the total amount of money raised yet but will let you know how much we have raised when we have.

Throughout the day the classes found out about the work of Comic Relief through a series of activities but were also busy with other lessons too.

Whilst the children in Foundation Stage enjoyed taking part in imaginative play indoors and outside, the children in Kestrels spent the afternoon painting pictures of Mount Vesuvius.

The children in 6M enjoyed their final afternoon over in the pool and also visited Geraldine, Gerald and Gordon the goats. Meanwhile, the children in 6C and 6J spent time developing their haka skills. The haka is a type of ceremonial Māori dance challenge. Haka are usually performed in a group and typically represent a display of a tribe’s pride, strength and unity. Actions include foot-stamping, tongue protrusions and rhythmic body slapping to accompany a loud chant so there was plenty of noise and action on display!
