It was a busy day for the children in Kites today as they investigated what plants need in order to grow. The children planted a number of seeds and planned an experiment to see whether changes in the factors impacted their growth. The children made predictions and then prepared their experiment which they will observe over time. They planted some seeds and planned to water them, over water them or not water them and also decided to put the seeds in different places where there were changeable amounts of light.

Meanwhile, as a group of children from Sycamore helped Miss Kelly to give the duck pond a thorough clean, the children in Woodpeckers took part in a fun PE lesson where they gained a sense of speed and space playing games with hoops and bean bags. Outside on the playground there was more fun and games as the children in Elm developed their tennis skills by throwing balls to each other and hitting them with rackets.

Having worked hard on their SATs papers in the morning, the children in Year Six had a chilled afternoon by either sketching some wonderful pictures of their hands with pencils or investigating the life of Henry VIII. Downstairs, the children in Year One used their numbertime session to use their knowledge of number bonds to ten or twenty when identifying missing numbers.

After school, our latest horse riding club took place. The session saw the children develop their ability to carry out a rising trot and learnt the correct position they would need to use in order to jump over a barrier whilst at ground level.
