Potter Potions!

It was a busy day at Earls Hall again today as our celebrations of ten glorious years of Forest Friends continued! The children in Year four enjoyed taking part in a Harry potter themed session where they had to follow a series of mysterious clues which resulted in them following a trail through the woods, transfer water across a tube to find answers and seek out a series of hidden keys.

Meanwhile, away from school, the celebrations continued as the second half of Year Three spent the day over at Belfairs Wood. The children foraged for sticks, stones and leaves which they then used in order to create works of art inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy before taking part in a Flat Stanley trail and sketching the forest using pencils. It was a fun day out of school which all of the children thoroughly enjoyed.

As the children in Sycamore investigated Christian thoughts on God in their RE lesson, Mr B was lucky enough to teach in Owls where the children continued to work on their versions of ‘The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig’. The children had innovated the story, replacing the characters with their own, and had plotted the main events out on a story map. They shared their story maps with their learning partners and then added a series of adjectives and adverbs at key points which they will ensure that they use when transferring the story form plan to written sentences.
