Posters, Performances & PE!

It was another busy day at Earls Hall today as the children continued to take part in their ‘Big Write’ sessions. The children in Year One acted out the plans of their innovated stories to each other and thought about the story language that they wished to include in their finished pieces.

Later on, in the upstairs hall, the sound of music echoed as the children from Year Five worked with the lovely Mrs Thompson, our Music specialist teacher, to learn songs which they will perform in their up and coming Easter production.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Mr Smith worked with children from across KS2 on the rope floor ladder where the children were challenged to move along it in a running style as fast as they could. Later Mr smith was on the playground with the children from Elm as they developed their hockey skills whilst there was more hockey action taking place away from school as Miss Brooker accompanied a team of children from Year Four as they took part in the Southend inter-schools hockey competition. The children played well as a team and came a respectable fifth place overall. Well done to all of the children who took part, we are proud of you all!

At the end of the corridor, in 6J, the children continued to investigate public propaganda posters from WWII, designing their own design which they will transfer into a screen print later on in the term.

After school the downstairs hall was used by a group of parents who joined Mrs Serenity for her weekly Yoga session. If anyone is interested in joining in with the sessions in the future then please contact the office for details.
