It was another busy day in school and one which saw a host of parents come into school to join in the fun in our Foundation Stage classes.
Parents joined the children in class on two occasions, at 9.15am and 2.45pm, to watch the classes take part in one of their daily ‘Letters & Sounds’ sessions.
The teachers led the sessions which gave the parents the opportunity to see the children segment and blend as well as recognise graphemes and ‘tricky’ words; words which are not able to be sounded out phonetically.
After the session the parents took the opportunity to share the learning journeys with the children and celebrate the learning which has taken place since they joined us in September.
Meanwhile, in the ‘Forest Friends’ area the children in Year Two enjoyed clearing up leaves on the grass by raking them and taking them to the compost bins in their wheelbarrows, playing in the mud kitchen and having fun on the rope swing!
