Performing Pupils!

There was a theme of performance in school today! the morning started with the upstairs hall being full of proud parents and other family members as a host of musical children entertained them on stage.

Our timbrels group started our ‘Music Review’, the third of the year, by entertaining the audience with their tambourines to music. Then the Year 3/4 choir sang a number of songs before individual children who have been undertaking music tuition in school performed on the guitar and piano. The standard was very high. Well done children, we are proud of you.

Later in the day the children in Squirrels painted their own pirate characters whilst the children in Hawks began creating their own Egyptian tombs.

Outside, the children in the Foundation Stage enjoyed using the Early Years Garden whilst the children in Year Two used their ‘Forest Friends’ sessions to play on the rope swing, make their own perfumes and blow giant bubbles.

The children found out the class arrangements for September today and the children from Year One spent time with their new classmates playing games and sharing books. All the  classes will meet their new teachers tomorrow morning.

At the end of the afternoon the children in the KS2 ‘Steps Ahead’ performing arts group performed their end of year showcase which saw them take to the floor to perform their own version of ‘We will Rock You’. It was a fantastic showcase which demonstrated their talents perfectly. Well done to all of our performers, we are proud of you.

In the evening the PTA committee threw a surprise party for Mrs Gooding. Mrs Gooding daughter leaves the school at the end of term so after ten years at the forefront of fundraising we acknowledged that we are likely to see less of her. Mrs Gooding was treated to a buffet and presented with flowers and gifts in order to thank her for all of her hard work. Thank you on behalf of all of the school Mrs Gooding!
