It was a day full of challenge and team work for the children in Year Two as they spent their ‘Forest Friends’ sessions creating their own games. The children worked in teams to make up their own rules, set up obstacles and lead the games. They then had to explain the rules of their games to other children in the class in order for them to play them.  The children absolutely loved the activities!

Meanwhile, in the KS1 assembly, Mr Geach talked to the children about taking responsibility for their belongings. He shared a  range of items found in the lost property bin down by the cloakroom and explained that if children looked after their belongings they may not get lost and that, if they discovered they had lost something, they could always go to the lost property to look for it.

At lunchtime Mr B enjoyed another lunch with a group of children who  had been identified as having excellent manners before lots of the children showed their artistic flair in the afternoon. The children in Sycamore painted Rainforest creatures whilst the children in Kestrels and Kites created their own Egyptian landscape pictures using paint and collage.

Whilst the children in Willow investigated metamorphosis, more children from Year Two took part in implicit transition activities this afternoon by visiting the KS2 library and getting to know Mrs Smith, an HLTA who also leads the KS2 lunchtime activities.
