It was another busy day for parents today as the classes in Year Five were joined by Mums, Dads and other family members at our latest parent writing workshop. Having enjoyed a presentation by the lovely Mrs Creak in the hall about how we approach writing as the children enter upper KS2, the parents then joined the children in class in order to work alongside them. After watching ‘Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief’ yesterday in class, the children used myth maker cards to begin to plan their own myths. With the support of their parents, the children were challenged to choose each element of their myth following the structure they had learnt about. It was wonderful to see so many parents in class, thank you to everyone who gave us their time.

As the children in the Foundation Stage enjoyed the wonders of the water tray, made their own twirlers or enjoyed role playing inside, the children in Badgers took part in a damp but fun Forest Friends session where their den building skills came into use as they created their own shelters to protect themselves from the drizzle whilst also creating Autumn mobiles.

The goats are not fans of the rain but ventured outside to socialise with a group of children from 6M as they carried out some essential farm jobs around the animal enclosures. In the afternoon, as the children in Kestrels took part in a lively dance lesson in the upstairs hall, down in the community room bands of children enjoyed more ‘Rock Steady workshop’ sessions where they joined band leader Louis as they played the keyboards, drums and electric guitars.
