There were exciting times all round today, both during the day and after school!

At lunchtime the new play equipment purchased through the ‘Walk to Work Challenge’ sponsorship proved to be extremely popular with the children lining up in their droves to have a turn on the trail.

The Midday Assistants chose children to model how to use the equipment safely and ensured that the pupils took turns to move along the equipment in the way it was designed to be used.

There is more equipment to be added to the trail later in the Summer, ensuring that there is plenty of things to climb and play on.

In the evening the KS2 choir and timbrels group represented Earls Hall at this years ‘South East Essex Schools music Association Music Festival’. Earls Hall was one of thirteen schools to take part in the evening event which holds a session every night this week, altogether bringing sixty two schools together to celebrate music.

The theme of the show was ‘Movie Night’ and, with all the songs performed deriving from films old and new, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The Timbrel group performed a stunning routine to ‘All in this Together’ from High School Musical and made all their parents and teachers proud. Earls Hall is the only school in Southend to have a timbrel group and so their performances always go down a storm!

The choir performed alongside all the other schools singing hits from ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ‘Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs’ and ‘Annie’ to name a few. They sang with enthusiasm and helped make the evening a wonderfully enjoyable one.
