It was a brilliantly busy first day back after the half term break at Earls Hall today! The day saw the children in the Foundation Stage use their Early Years garden to develop their ability to travel over, under and through whilst also exploring their talents as designers and constructors! Some of the children found a variety of ways to climb over and under the climbing frame, encouraging each other to travel up and over the equipment in different ways each time, whilst other children worked as a group in order to construct their very own slide made out of the large construction blocks. Once they had worked as a team to make the large construction, they took turns to enjoy it and a great time was had by all!

Meanwhile, in the Year One outdoor area, some children enjoyed developing their balancing skills using the stilts and balancing logs whilst others played in the sand pit or enjoyed dressing up in costumes and taking part in imaginative play activities. In the community room kitchen, the children took turns to transform plain biscuits by icing Rangoli onto them.

In Year Five the children used their Maths lessons to develop their understanding of statistics. They gathered data in a tally chart, collated the results from two classes combined and created a bar graph of the results before answering questions about the data.  Meanwhile, the children in Year Three investigated nutrition and how a balanced diet of the different food groups contributes to a healthy lifestyle.

Outside, the children in Oaks used their Forest friends session to act out Bonfire night events and created Rangoli patterns using natural objects foraged from the woods.

After school, as children enjoyed developing their ceramics skills in ‘Clay Cottage’ club, the downstairs hall played host to dance club whilst the upstairs hall was full of children from KS2 taking part in table tennis club.
