The end of the week saw the children celebrating in style as both the upstairs and downstairs halls were used to host our weekly ‘Celebration Assemblies’. Miss Ellacott hosted the downstairs assembly for children in Foundation Stage and Years One, Three and Five whilst Mr B hosted another assembly simultaneously upstairs for Years Two, Four and Six. The assemblies saw our weekly ‘Earls Hall Stars’ presented with certificates in recognition of individual achievements as well as postcard certificates for children working their way through their times tables challenges. Like every week, the children were excited to hear which house had earned the most house points to add to their ongoing total. Well done to Norfolk who were once again in front, this week by a mere ten points!

Later in the day the staffroom welcomed former Earls Hall year group leader Mrs Howard as she came into school with her new baby, baby Lily. Lily was as good as gold as she was passed around a host of teachers and teaching assistants for cuddles.

As the day progressed Elm enjoyed developing their breast stroke techniques over in the pool whilst Sycamore took part in cricket lessons on the field. The children in Owls used saws to cut wood for their troll flags.

In the afternoon Mrs Bowden, Mr Hume and Mrs Jeffery accompanied a group of children from the KS1 choir as they ventured out of school to take part in the latest ‘AOK Club’ mission. The children kindly entertained residents at Fairview residential home situated just round the corner from the school. They sang a series of songs from their recent Music Festival performance confidently and the crowd of residents and staff grew the more they sang. Well done to all of the children for giving their time and brightening the residents day!
