It was an important day for some of the pupils in Year Six today as Mr B shared the news of which children had been chosen to undertake some of the key responsibilities for the year. Following a meeting of the senior teachers in the school where the children were chosen, Mr B had the pleasure of sharing with the children who had been chosen as House Captains, Head boy and Head Girl.

The morning began with Mr B inviting the parents of William and Maria into school. At the meetings he explained to them that both children had been chosen for the roles of Head Boy and Head Girl due to their continuous excellent conduct throughout their time on the school. Throughout the year they will have the responsibility of representing the school when important guests visit, attending events in order to share the work of the school and acting as ultimate role models for others. We all know that, based on their previous excellent behaviour, they will both fulfill the roles brilliantly and Mr B was pleased to start the parents mornings with such wonderful news.

As the day progressed, the children who had been chosen to carry out the roles of House Captains were brought to Mr B’s office. It was explained to them that they had been chosen for the roles as they had continuously promoted the ‘Earls Hall Qualities’ and had been identified as excellent role models for the younger children in their respective houses. The children were tasked with phoning their parents from Mr B’s office in order to share the exciting news and it was fair to say that there were some very proud responses down the line! Well done to all of the children chosen as House Captains, Head Boy and Head Girl; we are proud of you all!

Meanwhile, as Miss Kelly was assisted by children from Year Six and the Cabin to look after the animals and the children in Beech created their own mini paper circuits, the children in Aspen enjoyed a Forest Friends session outside. The children used a range of materials, both natural and man made, to create some wonderful works of art. They arranged shells, twigs,  sand and wood to create unique and stunning pictures whilst also taking the time to have a go on the rope swing and investigate various plants using information books to reference.
