Forest Fun!

It was another busy day at Earls Hall today and one which saw a whole host of children enjoy the great outdoors as part of their Forest Friends sessions. The children in Sycamore worked outside in order to develop their team building skills. The children had to use their best communication skills and negotiate their way through a series of games as a group in order to achieve a collaborative end result. In the session there was also time to explore the woods and scavenge for leaves which they then used to create some stunning works of art.

There was more activity outside as the children from Kestrels explored the human body. They drew around their bodies in groups and identified key limbs and muscles whilst also exploring how the skeleton works to link all of the body parts together.

As the children in Badgers learnt how to save their work in Purple Mash in the computer suite, there was more outdoor fun down in the Early Years Garden. Over the past couple of days, the children have been introduced to the large tyres and today explored lots of the possibilities of how to use them. Some of the children used them to develop their gross motor skills whilst others used them to create role play scenarios such as trains. After school the downstairs hall played host to another karate session.
