Father Christmas Swings By!

It was a fantastically fun filled end to the term at Earls Hall as the children from across all the classes took part in Christmas celebrations! In the morning we held our final three ‘Celebration Assemblies’ of the year where, as well as singing Jingle Bells accompanied by Mr Hadley on his guitar, we presented ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates to individuals from each class from Years One to Six. Also in the assembly, we presented badges to our latest ‘Reading Champions’ in recognition of their efforts reading at home. Well done to all of the children who were presented with certificates or badges today, we are proud of you! In the KS1 assembly, the children said a fond farewell to the lovely Mrs Arnold after nearly two decades of service to the school. Starting as a newly qualified teacher as Mrs Hood nineteen years ago, Mrs Arnold has taught every year group in the infants over the years. In the assembly, Mr B presented her with a bunch of flowers and thanked her for all of her work over the years. At lunchtime it was the turn of our teachers to say their fond farewells and present her with gifts and flowers. Thank you for everything Mrs Arnold, you will be greatly missed! y

Later in the day the children all enjoyed their Christmas parties where they strutted their stuff to some yuletide hits and played party games. Just as the parties were getting going, Mr B heard a loud bang on the roof which he needed to investigate. Once he had climbed the roof, he discovered that the school was being visited by none other than Father Christmas! Father Christmas spent time popping into every class across the school where he gave every child a present and reminded them to go to sleep straight away on Christmas Eve. It was smashing of Father Christmas to give us his time at, what must surely be, the busiest time of his working year.
