It was a fabulous end to the first week of the new year at Earls Hall! The day saw us hold our three ‘Celebration Assemblies’ where, in our fully ventilated halls, one child from each class from Years One to Six was presented with an ‘Earls Hall Star’ certificate in recognition of their individual effort or achievement. The assemblies also saw us present our latest ‘Reading Champions’ with their badges and there was an extra buzz of excitement in the halls today as dozens of children were rewarded with their gold badges for the first time, having each read over one hundred times at home! Well done to all of the children presented with badges or certificates today, we are proud of you!

As the children in 6M enjoyed their final swimming lesson of the week over in the pool, the children in 6C took to the roads for a final time in the last of their ‘Bikeability’ sessions. The children cycled around the surrounding roads beautifully and Mr B was thrilled when the instructors praised the children for their sensible behaviour and excellent manner- fantastic!

In the afternoon, Mr B , Mr Geach and Mrs |Crouch all chaired meetings with our latest ‘Learning Ambassadors’ from the past week and also from just before the Christmas break. Each week every class from Years One to Six has an ambassador who reports back at the meeting about the learning which has taken place in their class. The meetings saw the children give a wonderful overview about the progression across the school with the children giving detailed accounts about the learning which has been taking place.

At the end of the day Mr B ended his week on a high by listening to children from Owls read in his office whilst the children in Sycamore took part in a science investigation using a force meter to develop their understanding of gravity.
