MENUMENU

Darling Ducklings!

It was a great final day of, what has been, a very busy week at Earls Hall! The morning began with the children from Foundation Stage to Year Five taking part in our annual class swap session where they spent time with the children and teachers that they will be working with in September. The children took part in activities where they were able to get to know each other and their new teachers in the rooms they will be working in. We were joined by our new teachers; Mrs Gillard, Ms Pax and Miss Cracknell, who all had a lovely time getting to know the children and staff. There were plenty of smiling faces at the end of the session when the children all went to our weekly ‘Celebration Assemblies’.

In the assemblies Mr B and Mrs Crouch presented the weeks ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates for individual effort and achievement as well as reading and times table certificates. Nandu, from Year Five, was announced as the winner of the PTA Summer Fete programme cover competition too! Well done to all of todays children, we are proud of you.

Later in the day, as our new teachers spent time visiting their children, there was lots of interest in our new ducklings down in the Foundation Stage. Out of the six eggs, five hatched, with the sixth sadly not due to. The five ducklings spent the day under the heater but occasionally popped out for a waddle, much to the amazement of the children in Robins, Hedgehogs and Dormice! They were visited by the Pre-School children from our ‘Come & Play’ group and endless amounts of teachers and teaching assistants!

Meanwhile, away from school at Garons, a group of children represented the school at this years KS1 Borough Sports competition. Accompanied by Mrs Critoph, Miss Childs, Mrs O’Rourke and Mrs Smoothy, the children took part in a series of running and jumping races against fourteen other schools from across the town.  The children all tried their very best and, as a result of their tremendous individual efforts, came a brilliant sixth place at the end of the competition- the highest placement we have ever been at the competition! Well done children, we are proud of you!
