It was a special afternoon in school today as the downstairs hall played host to our annual ‘Thank You Cream Tea’. Parents, grandparents and friends of the school who were treated to tea, scones with jam and cream as a way of showing our gratitude for all the help which has been given over the course of the past year. Children visited the adults from class in order to deliver home made thank you cards and Mr B presented flowers to our Chair and Vice Chairs of the PTA; Mrs Buttifant, Mrs Rimington-Hicks and, although she wasn’t present, Mrs Bates. Flowers were also presented to Jackie Gooding as a special thank you for over ten years fundraising for the school as her daughter leaves Year six at the end of term. Thank you to everyone who made it along as well as to those who couldn’t make it.
Meanwhile, the sound of rock could be clearly heard through the hall ceiling as the upstairs hall was full of proud parents gathered together in order to watch our latest ‘Rock Steady’ concert. Six bands entertained the audience playing the drums, keyboards, electric guitar, bass or singing and the sounds played were awesome! Thanks to Phil for his hard work over the course of the year and to all the adults who came along. Well done to all of the performers, we are proud of you.
After school the teachers used their staff meeting time in order to pass on information about the children to their next teachers. The teachers discussed academic achievement, the things which interest the children and what makes them unique.
