It has been a busy last week of term so far with the Christmas festivities in full swing across the school!
Tuesday saw the children in Year One take to the stage in order to perform their Christmas production of ‘A Snowman at Sunset’ in front of proud parents and other family members. Each class in turn told the story of how the children had to work together to collaboratively build a snowman before they remember the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ. The children used their loudest voices to sing and dance their way through the shows, thanks to everyone who made it along to enjoy the performances.
In the evening the back playground was full to the brim of families and the wider Earls Hall community as they came together to enjoy our annual ‘Carols Around the Tree’ celebration. As usual, we were joined by the Southend Band who played an hour of carols and Christmas songs whilst the crowd either sang or enjoyed a host of festive refreshments courtesy of the PTA and ‘Crepe de la Crepe’. The whole evening finished with the children enjoying more than a flurry of snow from the snow machine to the sounds of ‘Hark the Herald’. Thanks to everyone who got into the community spirit and joined us.
Yesterday, as classes from across the school enjoyed their festive Forest Friends campfire sessions, the children in Year Four took to the stage three times in order to perform their production of ‘Bethlehem Bandits’. The children were amazing as they acted, sang and danced their way through the show which told the story of a useless band of Bandits who don’t realise just how special their night will be. When they fail to steal anything from Mary, Joseph, the three Kings and even the Shepherds, they decide to change their ways as they witness the true meaning of Christmas through the birth of Jesus Christ. It was so special to see the hall so full of parents and other proud family members! Well done to all of the children who have taken part in performances over the course of the past couple of weeks, we are so proud of you all!
