Bronze Badge Bonanza!

It was a special end to another busy week at Earls Hall! The day saw us celebrate reading achievement across the school as we presented the first of this years ‘Reading Champions’ badges. The children in Foundation Stage, KS1 and, for the first time, KS2 who had read twenty five times at home were presented with their special badges in recognition of their efforts. The badges will be presented every week in assembly and there was a great sense of pride as children in all year groups proudly wore them. Well done children, we are proud of you!

There was more badge pride on display as a group of children from Years One and Two took part in an ‘AOK Club’ mission and were presented with special badges as a result. The children ventured out if school and sang at the ‘Young at Heart Club’ organised by ‘Southend in Sight’. The children entertained the club members, many of whom are visually impaired, with a range of songs before presenting them with cakes that they had made and chatting to the adults. All of the adults were really grateful and commented on how kind and polite the children were throughout the visit. Well done children, we are proud of you!

Mabel, the school dog, had a busy day today. Not only was she taken for a walk on no less than three occasions throughput the day by well behaved children but she also spent time visiting the children in Dormice. The children spent time asking Mrs Rick lots of questions about how to look after Mabel before spending time stroking and cuddling her.

At the end of the afternoon Mr B was joined by some children from Woodpeckers who read to him in his office beautifully. There was more pride on show away from school as Miss Brooker and Mr Smith accompanied the Upper KS2 girls football team to the next stage of the Southend football tournament. the girls all played brilliantly and did the school proud! Well done children, we are proud of you!
