It was an exciting day for Earls Hall sport today as two teams of children represented the school at the first Southend inter-schools tournament of the academic year. A team of boys and a team of girls packed up their bats and balls and headed off to Alleyn Court School in order to take part in the Southend table tennis competition where they played against a series of teams from other schools from the city. In the morning, the boys were pitched against their competitors and after a series of nail biting games took a magnificent second place. In the afternoon, our girls took to the tables where they all rose to the challenge of the day and again finished in a fantastic second place. The teams brilliant results mean that both our boys and girls teams will now compete in the Essex finals which will be held in Harlow in October. Well done to both teams, we are proud of you!
Meanwhile, back in school, as the children from Oak were once again joined by Miss Neal who supported them with their sewing skills, the new children in Foundation Stage had a whale of a time exploring the Early Years Garden.
Miss Kelly was supported by groups of children from across kS2 who helped her to clean out the duck pond and sweep up the goat enclosure before giving George the tortoise some tender loving care.
