It was a creative end to the week at Earls Hall for the children in Year Four as they continued to develop their batik cloths. Earlier in the week he children had used cantings to pour hot wax onto cloth in various patterns and today, with the wax now dry, they used a choice of coloured dyes to bring their designs to life! As the parts of the cloth with wax on remained undyed, the children were left with some stunning results!

Meanwhile, upstairs in the hall, there was more archery action! All of the children in KS2 have taken part in the Southend wide virtual archery competition and today saw the children in 6J develop their skills with many achieving some high scores.

It was a busy start to the day for Mr B today as he met with representatives from Southend Highways department who came along to discuss various ideas to help make the roads around the school safer at key times of the day.  Later in the day, as the children in Kestrels played fractions pelmanism where they had to match visual fractions with their written equivalent, the children in Willow investigated units of time, at times using word problems.

The afternoon ended with children from Elm enjoying their final session over in the pool whilst the children in 6M enjoyed a windy game of rounders on the field.
