There was a sporty start to the week today as many of the children enjoyed an active Monday in the pool and on the field.

The Summer term sees the children in Foundation Stage, Year One, Two, three and Four enjoy a terms worth of swimming lessons. Each week the classes will be escorted over to the pool where they will perfect their developing skills in the water.

As the first classes took to the pool today they were taught by new swimming teacher Mr Smith. Miss Bailey assisted the children in the water and the teachers or teaching assistants provided encouragement from the pool side.

Our pool is stunning and we are continually grateful for the fundraising our PTA organised over the past few years in order to refurbish it for the children to enjoy.

Meanwhile, on the field, children in Year Six were given the opportunity to burn off some energy by firstly running 600m round the track and then by taking part in a fun game of rounders. The active afternoon was the perfect finish to the day after they children had spent time before lunch undertaking some practice SATs papers in preparation for their end of year assessments later in the year.
