Plastic Pupils!

It was an exciting day for some of the Green Team members today as they discovered more about the world of recycling by venturing out of school! The representatives from Years Four to Six visited the Plasticity event in town which has been organised by the local authority. At the centre, t children discovered how plastic is recycled to create filament for 3d printing but also how other biodegradable waste materials such as coffee grounds and beer hops can be used to make filament. The children made their own individual pledges to improving our natural environment which they added to the washing lines and were challenged to find ways of better recycling plastic and joining the plasticity pledge. It was an interesting and fun trip out, thanks to all of those in the council who hosted us.

In the afternoon, the children in Year Three created their own dream catchers centred around the story of the BFG. Later in the day, Miss Patching and her netball team were joined by some special visitors on the court in the form of last years team of players! Now enjoying life in secondary school, the girls came back to Earls Hall in order to help train this years team before they take part in a tournament at Alleyn Court tomorrow. The girls were really supportive and it was lovely that they felt that they could give their time to support our current players. You know what we always say, ‘Once an Earls Hallian, always an Earls Hallian!’ Thanks girls!
