It was another busy day at Earls Hall today and one which saw many of the children demonstrate their creative talents! The children in Year Two worked together in groups in order to design and create boats for Traction Man to use to get across a treacherous lake. The children cut, measured and secured boxes, cartons and other junk modelling resources to build their boats and each and every completed model was uniquely different. Negotiation skills were key in order to take on board the ideas of everyone in the group and the classrooms were hives of activity throughout the afternoon.

Meanwhile, as Miss Kelly was assisted by children from 6J in looking after the animals, the children from across Year Six set to work on bringing their Tudor cushion designs to life. Having created individual designs, the children measured and cut felt pieces out carefully with some beginning to put their stitching skills into action.

As the children in Hedgehogs enjoyed their first swimming lesson over in the pool and the children in Kites took to the computer suite where they used the Scratch programme in order to code an animation, the children in Year Five took to the field in order to develop their cricket skills.

There was more action outside as the children in Squirrels developed their sprinting techniques and the children in Aspen used their Forest Friends session to take part in a bio-blitz activity.
