It was a busy day for the children in Year Three as they enjoyed investigating how their skeletons work! The children spent time feeling the various joints and before creating their own skeletons based on how they thought their bones were connected together. By the end of the session the classrooms were adorned with a series of skeletons, reflecting the children’s perceptions of their bodies.

Meanwhile, out of the front of the school, the children in Elm used their Forest Friends session to work on their team work skills. The children were given two linked challenges. They were asked to build an insulated home to keep a bottle warm before making a free standing bridge to hold the bottle. They then worked as a team to get all of their friends across a river of lava using mats.

After lots of the children had enjoyed a hearty serving of Mrs Warren-Hardy’s world famous curry the children in the Foundation Stage enjoyed role playing in the classrooms and the Early Years garden. At the end of the afternoon, the children in 6C spent time in the computer suite where they used Scratch to develop their coding skills. There was quite a retro vibe as the class used the program to create their own versions of the classic game Pacman!
