It was a magical day for many at Earls Hall today as our youngest children were visited by Father Christmas! This year Father Christmas was situated in a special outdoor grotto which each class bubble from The Foundation Stage, and some of Year One, visited in turn. Being very Covid aware, Father Christmas himself sat in the entrance of his warm grotto whilst each child spoke to him from a safely measured two metre distance. Our children each had a chat to our special visitor and were given a present back in class which Father Christmas had thoughtfully had isolated for the past few days. It was a lovely sight to see the children enjoy their visit so much. Thank you, as always, to the PTA for arranging the day so brilliantly and, this year, covering the cost of a present for every child. Thank you also to Father Christmas himself! Today was the first of three days where children will visit him.
Meanwhile, there was more outdoor action as the children in Year Two enjoyed their special Forest Friends Christmas camp fire sessions. All of the children enjoyed hot chocolate and marshmallows and this year all took part in signing along to a number of Christmas songs which they all enjoyed!
Inside the sound of music filled the air as the children from Foxes enjoyed a day of music with the lovely Mrs Thompson. The children played a range of percussion instruments to accompany a variety of Christmas songs and the children really enjoyed the festivities.
In Elm the children investigated the water cycle by taking part in an investigation where they evaporated water to form clouds and rain! Throughout the day the children also assisted Mrs Timpson with the animals and their jobs included giving the hen enclosure a thorough clean.
