Dynamic Dodgers!

The feeling of team spirit was in the air today as a group of children from across Years Five and Six ventured out of school to Garons in order to represent Earls Hall at the Southend inter-schools dodgeball tournament. The team played against a series of other schools before reaching the final and battling Bournemouth Park Primary; the same two teams as in last years final. In a thrilling final game Bournemouth Park came out on top but our team were therefore awarded a fantastic second place and will go on to take part in the Essex finals. Well done to all of the children who took part, we are proud of you all!

Meanwhile, back in school, there were plenty of rehearsals taking place in the downstairs hall as children in Foundation Stage, Year One and Year Two continued to develop their Christmas plays. In Rabbits the children worked in teams to type their own stories on the laptops whilst upstairs in the hall the choir enjoyed a singing session with the lovely Mrs Thompson.

Mr B spent time this afternoon meeting with a group of local Headteachers. Earls Hall is part of a local engagement group which sees five schools working together on joint initiatives. Today the Headteachers of Leigh North Street Primary, Chalkwell Infants, Chalkwell Juniors and West Leigh Infants met with Mr B to monitor progress against joint action plans, share best practice and discuss recent joint training sessions and their impact in school. It is lovely to work in such a productive way with other schools and a great time was enjoyed by all!
