It was a fun day for the children in Year Three today as each class took part in some ‘Forest Friends’ sessions out the front of the school. Whilst enjoying the glorious weather, the children were challenged to take part in a series of team building activities. The children created their own challenges and undertook others set to them by Miss Chandler and Mrs Moon. Communication was key and by the end of the sessions the children had created their own games and trails for others to follow and play. Meanwhile, inside, Mrs Rick met with Mr White, one of our Vice Chairs of the governing body, in order to monitor the budget.
There was more teamwork on display in the downstairs hall as Mr Geach put the Foxes through their paces with a series if team games in PE whilst, outside on the field, Mrs Ludlam taught a game of cricket with the children in Sycamore.
Meanwhile, in Owls, the children identified sources of food on farms in preparation to their up and coming trip to Barleylands whilst out on the playground the children in Elm undertook a litter survey by working in groups around various parts of the site.
At the end of the day the children in the KS1 ‘After School Club’ took part in play activities and also decorated their own biscuits with icing and various toppings.
