It was an amazing start to another week at Earls Hall today as we celebrated the efforts and achievements of our children in our latest ‘Reading Champions’ assemblies. The morning began with proud parents and other family members gathering in the downstairs hall in order to watch not only bronze and silver badge recipients but children in Foundation Stage and KS1 who had earned gold status by reading a fantastic one hundred times at home! Later in the morning the children in KS2 took to the front of the hall as they were also presented with their brilliant badges. Well done to all of the children who were presented with badges today, we are proud of you!
Also in the upstairs hall, as our PTA held a committee meeting in the community room, the children in Years five and Six were entertained by students from South Essex College who came and performed a short play on mental health and well being. The theme of the play centred on looking out for others and was part of their first year drama qualification, written by the young people themselves. The children listened and watched beautifully and were really touched by the powerful and thought provoking message conveyed.
After school the downstairs hall was a hive of activity as Miss Cracknell hosted her ‘Streetdance’ club where the children enjoyed an energetic session!
