It was another proud day on the sporting front for Earls Hall today! Three teams from across KS2 joined represented the school at this years Southend Dodgeball tournament. Amazingly all three teams were unbeaten by a host of other schools throughout the competition and were therefore crowned Southend champions! Team A will now go through to the Essex finals in January. Well done to all of the children who represented the school, we are proud of you!
Later this evening, Mr B joined Mr smith and Mr Dorn at this years Southend Activity Awards ceremony where they proudly watched our 2018/19 table tennis team win the award for ‘Southend KS2 Team of the Year’ in recognition of becoming national champions. There was a further reason to celebrate as former Earls Hall pupil Charlie was awarded on two occasions, picking up trophies as runner up for ‘Young Sports Personality of the Year’ and winner of ‘Paralympic Hopeful’. Charlie was first introduced to his chosen sport of Wheelchair Basketball whilst learning at Earls Hall and has since gone on to play the game at an international level. Well done to the table tennis team and to Charlie, we are proud of you!
Meanwhile, back in school, Mrs Barnes used the KS1 assembly in order to teach the children all about St Andrews Day whilst, upstairs in Year Five, more children were joined by students from Westcliff High School for Boys in order to gain an insight into KS3 Science investigations.
Outside, Mrs Timpson was joined by more children as they undertook more of the responsibilities on the farm. Not being deterred by the rain, children from Year Six cleaned out the bantam enclosure whilst others spent some time caring for the goats.
