This afternoon saw us hold one of our biggest and most special events in the school calendar as we hosted our annual ‘Helpers Cream Tea’. The downstairs hall was full of parents, grandparents and friends of the school who had given their time to support Earls Hall throughout the past year. Our visitors were welcomed to the event by our transition prefects how spent time chatting with them and thanking them for their time throughout the year. Our guests were then treated to scones with jam and cream as well as cups of tea and coffee as a small way of saying thank you for their support. Children from across all classes came out of class to present every guest with a home made thank you card and Mr B gave a short speech of thanks. Special thanks were given to Mrs Bates and Mrs Welling for their work as chair and vice chair of the PTA, with bouquets of flowers being presented to each. Mrs Bates’ Mum collected her flowers on her behalf. It really was a smashing way to extend our gratitude, thanks to everyone who made it along.
Earlier in the day life in school continued to be as busy as ever. The children in Sycamore and Beech ventured out of the school in order to visit Priory Park. They visited the museum where they found out all about the history of our local park before enjoying lunch in the sunshine.
Meanwhile, back in school, children from across the school continued to visit the ducklings, giving them food and water throughout the day, whilst outside the work on the Woodland Diner garden continued as a group of children from Kites helped Mr B trim the bushes so that they looked neat and tidy.
