There was a feeling of celebration at the beginning of the day today as the children in Foundation Stage and KS1 congratulated the efforts and achievements of our latest ‘Reading Champions’!
Mr B was assisted by both the lovely Mrs Critoph, our Deputy Head, and Mr Stanton, our Chair of Governors. The children were presented with bronze, silver and gold badges; the latter being presented in front of proud parents and other family members. Well done to all of the children who were presented with badges this morning, we are proud of you!
Later in the day the children in Robins had a fantastic time creating their own circus! They took on different roles including the ringmaster, an acrobat, clowns, a water squirting elf, a dragon and a grizzly bear!! The children enjoyed performing a series of routines at the front of the class and the members of the audience, their classmates, were thrilled by their enthusiasm!
In the afternoon both halls were a hive of activity as the children in Owls and Willow both took part in PE lessons. In the upstairs hall the Year Fives took part in a series of indoor athletics activities where they challenged themselves to beat their personal bests whilst running, jumping and throwing. In the downstairs hall the Year Twos were challenged to travel on, along and off a variety of apparatus both as individuals and in teams.
Meanwhile, in Dormice the children created their own lavender salt dough whilst in Badgers the children created their own timelines based on facts they had researched about the Great Plague.
