It was an exciting beginning to a week full of adventures off site as the children in Oak class were the first Year Four class to venture off site for an adventure at Wat Tyler Country Park.
At the park the children spent the day getting to know their overnigt acommodation, known as the resi – short for residential, playing team games in the park which centred on communication skills and team work.
At lunchtime the children enjoyed a quorn shepherds pie before taking part in orienteering activities in groups where the children were challenged to identify animal prints around the fields.
In the evening the children prepared their own meals of jacket potatoes, cheese and salad by pricking the potatoes, grating the cheese and preparing the salad.
Whilst dinner was cooking in the oven the children all made thier own kites and played with them on the back field before they then enjoyed their meal.
As it got dark the children took part in a night walk where they listened to a story by Mr Blunt in his cottage drinking hot chocolate back at the resi.
