It was an exciting start to the week at Earls Hall. The day saw a group of children from KS1 accompany Miss Childs, Mrs O’Rourke and Mrs Smoothy to the Southend ‘Quad Kids’ competition. The competition saw the children represent the school by taking part in a number of events. Each child had to throw the howler, complete the 300m run, a standing jump and the 50m sprint. All of the children tried their very best and the team ranked a respectable fifth place at the end of the day. Well done to all of the children, we are proud of you!
Meanwhile, back in school, the morning began with the children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 celebrating our latest ‘Reading Champions’. The hall was full of proud parents and other family members who came along to see the children get presented with their special badges in recognition of their reading efforts at home. Today bronze, silver, gold and platinum badges were presented. Well done to all of the champions, we are proud of you.
The morning saw the children in Year Six undertake their SPAG test but in the afternoon they had fun decorating their Tudor modroc masks and playing rounders on the field. Meanwhile, inside, there was more art being created as the children in Year One continued to make their farm models whilst the children in Year Two created mono prints of characters from ‘James and the Giant Peach’.
