It was another proud start to the week as the children from the Foundation Stage and KS1 came together in their assembly in order to celebrate the achievements of our latest ‘Reading Champions’.
Mr B was helped by Miss Patching and Mrs Fraser to present the special badges to the latest group of children who had reached the bronze, silver and gold level of the awards. The children who had earned gold status were joined in the hall by their parents and other proud family members and, at the end of the assembly, the children finished by singing ‘Sandy Land’ as Mr B played on his guitar. Thank you to all the parents who made it along and well done to all the children who were presented with badges, we are proud of you.
At the ed of the assembly two children, who had been identified as having shown respect for the children being presented by sitting beautifully throughout the presentation, were given the job of polishing Mr B’s office.
Later in the day, the children in Beech class had a fun afternoon as they used the saws to curt wood to specific lengths. the children are beginning to make Victorian pull along toys and needed to make a wooden frame for their design to sit on. The children supported each other when measuring and cutting, following their design carefully.
