It was a fantastic day for the children in Year Three today as they took part in some fun ‘Forest Friends’ sessions. The weather was changeable throughout the day, with rain pouring at times, but this didn’t stop the children enjoying taking part in a range of activities. The children created their own boats, created observational drawings, made dens, perfumes and potions and played in the mud kitchen. It was a lovely free day which everyone enjoyed.
Meanwhile, back inside, the children in the Foundation Stage continued to work on their healthy recipe challenge by designing and creating their own fruit kebabs. The children investigated a range of fruits and chose which ones they wanted according to their appearance, smell and taste. After discussing how to use kebab sticks and knives safely, the children cut their fruit into chunks and slices before sliding them onto their sticks in their unique order. The kebabs were delicious and Mr B was even treated to one which he loved!
At the end of the afternoon the downstairs hall played host to the second of our’ Attendance Assemblies’ as Mr B congratulated children from Year One who had attended school for over 95% of the time in the first two terms of the year. The children’s images were displayed on a musical powerpoint before each child was presented with a special certificate in front of proud parents and other family members. Well done children, we are proud of you!
