There was an air of excitement over in the dining hall today as the team in the kitchen served up an incredibly special lunch!
Our recent ‘Design a Dinner’ competition saw tens of dozens of children enter recipes with the chance of having their meal cooked and served to the rest of the school. After much cogetation and deliberation Mrs Warren-Hardy chose a recipe of ‘Sausage & Beans Pie’ served with peas or sweetcorn which was entered by William from Year Three.
This morning William joined the team over in the kitchen to oversee the preparation of the meal and added the finishing touches before popping it in the oven to cook.
At lunchtime he was joined by his parents, Mrs Howard, Mr B and Mr Genovese- school governor for Year Three- who were all delighted to sample the meal. The children in the dining hall gave William a huge round of applause for his efforts, with many of them giving him a thumbs up and lots of positive feedback. Well done William, we are proud of you. All the children who entered the competition will be presented with a certifciate in recognition of their efforts in ‘Celebration Assembly’ on Friday.
Meanwhile, in Beech Class, the final of the school chess championship continued as the Schofield brothers battled it out for the title of chess player of the year. The end of the first game was a stalemate, but in the second game Vincent was crowned champion. Well done boys for a highly enjoyable game, we are proud of you.
