It was a proud day on the sports field today as a group of children from KS1 represented Earls Hall at the Southend Cross County tournament. The children from Year One and Two, who have bee attending our weekly running club held by Mrs Smoothy, ventured out to Garons where they were challenged to run a distance of 1000m on grass. The children all tried their very best and represented the school brilliantly. Mrs Smoothy and Mrs O’Rourke came back to school full of pride. Well done to all of the children who took part, we are proud of you!
Meanwhile, back in school, the children in 6C continued to learn about WWII and today designed their own propaganda posters which they will screen print later in the term. In Dormice, the children investigated bubbles. Yesterday they showed an interest in the bubble machine and so today tried making their own bubbles using washing up liquid and hoops, bats and blowers.
In Rabbits the children made some Mothering Sunday surprises whilst in Foxes the children researched and investigated birds, drawing and labelling them. In ‘Forest Friends’ the children continued to make their own pendants out of wood they had previously cut to size using a saw.
At the end of the afternoon it was the turn of the children in Owls to perform their amazing ‘Lion King’ dance for proud parents and other family members. The children thrilled the adults with their self choreographed routine. Well done to all of the children who performed, we are proud of you!
