It was an incredibly fun day today at Earls Hall as the whole school celebrated ‘World Book Day’. The children and staff all celebrated in style by coming to school dressed as characters from the wonderful world of literature, with everyone throwing themselves into the spirit of the day. In assembly the children shared their outfits and there were plenty of princesses, Harry Potters, heroes and heroins as well as fairy tale favourites on display. The teachers also got involved by wearing some fun outfits. Thank you to everyone who got fully involved, as always it made the day so much fun!
In the downstairs assembly the children took the opportunity to say ‘au revoir’ to the lovely Miss Patching as she starts her maternity leave tomorrow. The children thought of various names which she might like to call her baby including the name ‘Beautiful’ which Miss Patching particularly liked. Miss Patching was given three cheers and presented with some flowers to wish her all the best before she promised to bring her baby in to see the children once it was born. Good luck Miss Patching!
As the children across the school took part in a series of book related activities, Mr B was visited by Cllr Davison. Mrs Davison was interested to hear about the progress of the school and also discussed with Mr B ways to improve parking around the school.
Meanwhile, the children in Year Five ventured out of school in order to visit Chase High School. At the school the children took part in a science show which saw them participating and watching awesome Science experiments. Mrs Ludlam’s hair stood on end and Mr Hadley had cake cases popping off of his head!
After school there was more science on show in the KS1 and Foundation Stage ‘Science Club’. The children created their own volcanoes using sand, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda which resulted in a fantastic eruption!
