It was a busy start to the shorter than usual week following the Bank Holiday weekend as the children in Foundation Stage and KS1 gathered together in order to celebrate the efforts of our latest ‘Reading Champions’. Mr Geach played host as the children were presented with bronze, silver, gold and now platinum badges with the latter being presented in front of their proud parents who had come along to join in with the celebrations.
At the beginning of the assembly Mr Geach congratulated Felix from Year two who shared with the children the fact that he had received his second Blue Peter badge by sending ideas to the programme. Well done to Felix and to all of the readers presented with badges, we are proud of you all.
Later in the day the children in Kites investigated shadows and how they move and change size over time whilst the children in Kestrels created their own Egyptian landscape pictures using a paint wash and collage. Over in the pool the children from Woodpeckers enjoyed another swimming lesson.
At the end of the afternoon the upstairs hall was full of proud parents as the children from the Foundation Stage took part in a special ‘Attendance Assembly’. Those children who had an attendance of 95% or over in the Spring term were presented with a special certificate and congratulated by being part of a musical powerpoint showing them enjoying themselves in school. Thank you to all of the parents who came along for the assembly and well done to all of the children. We are proud of you all!
