It was a fantastic end to another week at Earls Hall! The children took part in our weekly ‘Celebration Assemblies’ where Mrs Geach and Mrs Ludlam presented children from each class with ‘Earls Hall Stars’ certificates for individual effort and achievement. There were also certificates for times tables and reading races. Well done to all of the children rewarded today, we are proud of you.
The children in the Foundation Stage classes have spent time throughout the week investigating Chinese New Year and today the learning culminated in the children tasting noodles and prawn crackers as a treat. The children in the classes had previously made a range of Chinese dragons and the pupils in Hedgehogs decided that they wanted to perform in theirs. They were eager to share their dance with the ladies in the office and so wrote them individual invitations to a performance in the hall. The ladies accepted and were delighted with the dance! Hedgehogs were also joined by Ember’s Mum who came to talk to the class about her travels to China. She shared some of the things that she collected on her visit including a giant butterfly kite. Thank you for giving the children your time!
Meanwhile, in Kestrels the children sorted natural and man made rocks whilst Mr B listened to more children read in his office and Mrs Irwin, one of the school governors, met with the weeks ‘Learning Ambassadors’ to discuss the learning which has taken place throughout the school this week.
Over in the pool the children in Oak developed their backstroke whilst, in the Woodland Diner, Mr Smith met with the girls and boys table tennis teams for one final session before they take part in the Southern finals of the national competition this weekend. Both teams are ranked in the top sixteen in England so it will be a tough tournament this weekend. Good luck boys and girls!
